Since Day 1 at Central Valley Christian High school, athletics has played a large role in the life of the school. In the beginning, a tiny student population limited CVC to one sport per season: volleyball, basketball, and soccer. In 1986 CVC expanded to include football and has continued to grow, now offering 16 varsity sports. Much has changed in the last 38 years, including the number of distinguished alumni CVC’s produced who have gone on to compete at higher levels. 

Throughout its history, CVC has been built on the community of teachers, students and parents. This fall a committee was formed to help identify and recognize those who’ve contributed to the excellence of CVC athletics.  The result is the newly formed Cavalier Club. The committee of nine individuals began the selection process and decided to limit the number of recipients each year to two individual athletes, 1 team, and 1 coach, administrator, or CVC supporter who has stood out in enhancing the CVC athletic programs. 

Besides their outstanding athletic accomplishments, the CVC athletic department wants to recognize those athletes, teams, and supporters who have laid a foundation for our current and future athletes to emulate in living out the CVC school mission statement. CVC strives to produce Christian Student-Athletes who are charged to commit, care, and connect spiritually, academically, athletically, and emotionally with each other and our opponents. Tonight’s recipients have modeled these characteristics and have paved the way as exemplary athletes and citizens for all the CVC students-athletes who come after them.
