Ryan Colburn
2019 Inductee
Ryan attended CVC from 2001 to 2005, excelling as a 3-sport standout in baseball, basketball and football. As a junior baseball player, Ryan hit .456 and was named 1st team all-league and as a senior basketball player, Ryan took East Sierra league MVP honors, but football is where Ryan really left his mark. As quarterback, Ryan led the Cavaliers to back-to-back, undefeated 13-0 seasons in 2003 and 2004, culminating each season with a Central Section Championship. Ryan won numerous awards, including East Sierra MVP, Channel 47 player of the year, 1st team all-state and 1st team all-county. Heavily recruited his junior and senior years, he agreed to play college football for Pat Hill and the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Ryan was a 2 year starter at quarterback for Fresno State, leading the Bulldogs to a 16-10 record over his two seasons as a starter, including consecutive Bowl game appearances. Ryan was 20th in the nation in pass efficiency in each of his two years as a starter. He was named Humanitarian of the Year his senior year and also named to the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic team.
After college, Ryan was invited to the New Orleans Saints training camp and then spent a season playing for the UFL’s Sacramento Mountain Lions. Ryan now works in agriculture, and his family consists of his wife Alannah and his 3 sons, Vance, Hank, and Dean.
