Dr. John DeLeeuw

Strong athletes allow CVC to compete at a high level, but much of that would not be possible without the support from coaches, administrators, and supporters of CVC. Dr. John DeLeeuw who served as the CVC Superintendent from 1992-2015. In his time as superintendent, John saw CVC’s enrollment double and saw CVC athletics grow from a fledging program long on heart but short on victories into a perennial powerhouse likely to take down other schools quadruple its size. Known as the “Builder of CVC,” he oversaw the the building of an entire elementary campus, a high school library building, an elementary library complex and a chapel building, as well as  the construction of a football field and a second gymnasium.  In addition, he realized the value of a thriving athletic program in giving a school its identity, and he cultivated this growth by serving as an encouraging, supportive administrator to teachers and coaches alike, attending hundreds of games and modeling servant leadership in all that he did.  During his tenure as superintendent, CVC teams won 117 league crowns, 50 Valley titles and 1 state championship. For all of that and more, we’d like to welcome to the Cavalier Club, Dr. John De Leeuw.
